Experiencing Lockdown
What the human race is experiencing at the moment is nature’s fury. Sometimes I am in delirium on this state of lockdown. The nature has its own way and it has reiterated the fact that human beings are so miniscule and trivial in front of nature.
Recently, I saw a video a friend had sent depicting the water of Ganges. It has turned so clear and the mammoth river is now clean as it was around 60 years back. What is ironical is the fact that the government spent some thousands of crores on trying to clean Ganga a few years back but with hardly any luck. And this lockdown has done what so much capital couldn’t do, and nature did it on its own. Not a single penny spent.
So, this lockdown has its own benefits.
The biggest and the most practical benefit that I am experiencing is good home-made food or rather should I say, healthy food. With junk options negligible, we all are eating good home cooked food. We have tried a lot of variants though, but still home food has its own flavour and goodness.
On the work front, though work from home in the initial stages was crazy for everyone and it took some time for things to settle down. With over 5 months of work from home now, things are better, more structured and work-life balance is back again. Though there are some exceptions of late-night client calls, but that was there anyways, even when things were normal.
Many people I know have learnt something new or they have gone back to reading again. Music is another stress buster. My next-door neighbours are amazing singers but sadly they got stuck in Chennai during this lockdown.
I have started writing, exercising and also did a little bit of cooking initially. Whatever you do but the most important thing is to keep yourself busy. Stay positive and good luck!
Good thought. We should respect nature, and nature will respect us back
